easyPRAY

An easy to use wizard for compiling agents and eggs. I saw several programs for creating pray templates or compiling an agent. But they all have some disadvantages. You always need to type in all the information about your agent, i. e. if you have a lot of image files included (about 112 for eggs) you need to add them all by hand every time when recompiling. I plan to get the information automatically as far as possible.

Planned Changes:

  • General improvements
  • Open external programs for dependencies on request.
  • Built-in praycompiler
  • Display images, play sounds (?)
  • Always: Remove bugs if reported ;-)
(I'm open for feature requests. Please send them to me or add them to our 'Features request tracker' at Sourceforge)

News

02.04.2002: In case you are wondering, no, work isn't completely stalled on easyPRAY. I just took a break for other things.
What will be new in the next release: Creating new agents without an existing cosscript, more editing features in the scriptwindow, syntaxhighliting of the caosscript, built-in praycompiler, i.e. praybuilder of CL will no longer be needed.
Though don't hold your breath while waiting for next release. The code is mainly there but needs a lot of debugging and optimisation.

24.09.2001: Added the french locales and therefore the program itself is now installable in English, German and French. However the help is only in English! Thanks to pasto for doing the French translation :) (The french locales are the only changes since yesterday!)

23.09.2001: The new version 0.4.0 of easyPRAY is out :)
It features now eggs too, and I made some improvements to the rest. For a detailed list look in the Changelog. I brought also the Screenshots up to date.
The help is more extensive now and explains the function/usage of the different parts. I hope this makes it especially for newbies to PRAY easier to get started.

10.08.2001: easyPRAY moved over to Sourceforge together with several other tools.
However the GPL license does not yet apply to the last release (ver. 0.3.0).
Within the next few days I change everything needed in the sources and upload them to the cvs.

03.08.2001: Release of easyPRAY 0.3.0
It features now the possibility to compile DS agents as well. Though it's not complete and some things still need to be implemented. But still better than writing the template by hand, I'd say ;-)

26.07.2001: The tux example included in easypray doesn't work for people who don't have C3 installed. Therefore I added an extra download with a working example to the programs download site until the next release of easyPRAY which is at the latest hopefully at the end of next week.

06.07.2001: Francis told me after the release of v0.26 that he experienced problems with easyPRAY on Mandrake 8.0. I investigated that a bit more and found out that LM 8.0 has problems with statically linked GTK programs in general :-(. However I added a third download possibility and v0.27 should work on any recent distribution. If not please tell me, otherwise I can not solve that problem!
Though there are minor bugfixes for all OS the upgrade on Windows is not really needed but I recommend it on Linux.

01.07.2001: Many things have changed since 01.06.. There *is* now a linux praybuilder available *and* a linux port of Docking Station is currently beta tested and therefore I decided to make easyPRAY really usable on linux. Francis Irving from CL granted me permission to put a download of that praybuilder on my site and therefore it's already included in the easyPRAY download for linux :-).
easypray still a beta version and under development, i. e. it's not finished and it may have bugs but it's pretty stable at the moment. Move to the download page here.
