C16 Converting Tools

Here you will find my C16 converting tools. These tools are thought to be helpful, when developing agents for Creatures or Docking Station under Linux. I try to keep them portable, so that they can be used under Windows, too. Currently only C16 <=> PNG is avalable. Planned are also:

  • JPG <--> C16
  • a sprite viewer, using GTK

18. September 2001: Version 0.3

Version 0.3 is now available. It handles now BLK sprites correct.

  • BLK is now correctly written to one PNG file.
  • Added pngtoblk.
  • c16topng and pngtoc16 now support the -t resp. --transparent switch, which enables translation of transparent to black and vice versa during conversion.

There is a source .tar.gz available as well as Debian packages. The Debian packages are built against Debian/Sid. In both cases you need the LibC16.

This software is distributed under the terms of the General Public License. Go on and read it, before you download any packages from below!

Now there's also a Windows binary package. We still have some problems building statically linked binaries and therefore two additional needed dlls are included, but I hope that we can fix that soon.
